AUSTRALIA | TRANSCRIPT of Child Abuse Inquiry into Jehovah's Witnesses and Watchtower Society - April 2013
by jwleaks injw leaks has published the 17 page official transcript of the appearance by watchtower bible and tract society of australia and jehovah's witnesses before the "inquiry into the handling of child abuse by religious and other organisations" conducted on 11 april 2013 in victoria, australia.. http://jwleaks.org/australia/.
quote from rachel van witsen, legal counsel for watchtower bible and tract society of australia and jehovah's witnesses, in reply to who is responsible for reporting child abuse within the religion of jehovah's witnesses... .
ms van witsen at the moment, because there is no mandatory reporting for ministers of religion in victoria, then the victim, who has very often had their dignity removed, is then put in the drivers seat.. .

Terry is ill equipped to be answering these questions, he admits to basically knowing nothing about the subject. All he can do is state the party line and say 'i dont understand'...
well now they have a real delema, seems legal just stitched HQ up:
Mr WAKELING
Could I put to you, Mr O’Brien, the evidence that you have presented thus far is that
you have indicated to us that because of the legislation your organisation will not report, and your legal counsel
has just indicated that you will now report. For the purpose of this inquiry, can you please clarify what in fact is
the position of the Jehovah’s Witnesses church here in Victoria? When your organisation becomes aware of
child abuse, not only morally, but is your organisation proactively going to report these incidents?

Evidently, AAWA may have changed their name on the outside, but actions speak louder than words...
the attitude is still 'anti'

WTF just happened??? An elder I haven't seen in years stopped by to hand me a XXXXXXXX !!!
by Calebs Airplane inso yesterday afternoon, an elder who lives only 3 blocks away drives up to my house as i was about to enter my car.
as he gets out of his car, i noticed he had a stack of photocopied paper in his hand and he seemed quite nervous.
i was genuinely happy to see him nonetheless since he is pretty easygoing and very likeable.

or in the stack of papers were the printouts of everything you have ever said on here ot FB and he was too darn scared to use them??
he was the front man to scope you out and report back to the others, the flyer was the cover.

'The Matrix' and 'The Village'
by JWB in'the matrix' and 'the village'.
elsewhere someone created a thread concerning the novels '1984' and 'animal farm' as being relevant to the wts.
i would also like to add a thread to draw suggestions for movies.. .

Although not a film, the subject of Utopian movements during the very early american history is also an interesting lesson in religious control and one can see why groups like SDA and WT managed to get born on the tail wind of them.

dont turn up for work.
when they get cranky at you go ballistic back at them. No money no worky.
If they run a business that close to the wire (meaning they have their own cash flow problems) they have no business employing people, they are basically not viable most of the time

How to Take Down the AAWA! (For those that have been hurt by that org)
by HintOfLime in(if you're tired of aawa threads, please be aware, this is an aawa thread.).
sadly - there are people who have been negatively affected by the aawa, and like other organizations, the aawa made protecting it's name and reputation a priority over helping and protecting the people it should have been trying to help.
like other organizations, they won't discuss the issues publicly with the community, insisting instead on discussions behind closed doors and "getting the names" of people expressing concerns.. .

focusing on 'taking down' aawa?
Its not the ememy. Its only mistake (in my mind) besides its privacy mistakes (that have been flogged enough) is perhaps the thought or expectation that it could unite ex jws into some organizational powerhouse to force the WT to change. That it has divided JWN and had some leave to support IT is a shame because this forum is not its ememy either.
This forums members have ALWAYS called bullshit on any ex jw group or website that gets it wrong or misrepresents reality. aawa was just the latest. I'm pretty sure if i put up a blog full of nonsense or daft ideas it would get torn into too.
aawa got torn into, lets see what it does to itself from hereon in, not clamor for its blood.
Focus on your own private battle with the WT i say...

My Final Goodbye
by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

I do not understand why Lady lee being here is a conflict of interest in her mind, this is not a group in oppostion to AAWA nor a rival.
Its only 'to do with' AAWA was various ones (self included) giving AAWA a flogging over its actions and lack of actions.
Good luck Lee...dont burn any bridges...

The Governing Body scenario is nearly identical to that in 1977 - no power
by Dogpatch inthe watchtower perposely keeps its leaders "cordoned off" for a reason.
the ones really in charge want to be invisible and have been in control since knorr's day, and still think like him.
the gb want like hell to be visible and powerful.
